I would love to discuss a commissioned oil painting with you. Whether it is a portrait of your grandchildren, favorite pet, your home, or a special place that you want to remember, I am willing to work with you to paint the painting that you are wanting to own. As an artist I become the bridge between the subject and the final painting. That painting has to include the personality and spirit of the person you are painting. I especially enjoy painting children at play. I spend time with the child to get to know them and their smile, their little idiosyncrasies that make them who they are. Then it is my job to bring that spirit to the painting. Using photographs as a reference, I seek to capture a moment in time and share that slice of life with the viewer. I rarely paint a formal portrait, but my subjects are busy enjoying their life and surroundings.
Pets are such a joy to their owners and animal lovers enjoy having an oil painting of their pet. I can use your photograph, but I prefer to take my own and get to know your pet and its personality.
