Life is like a bowl of cherries or “a box of chocolates”! This unusual still life is a bird’s eye view of an antique glass bowl filled with ripe, red cherries on a lovely white lace tablecloth. As I painted it, I thought about that bowl of cherries—Sweet or Tart? Big or little? Life is full of contrasts and surprises just like that box of chocolates that Forrest Gump held in his lap at the bus stop.
